LASTING IMPACT

The Prosper Process:

1
Dream it. Plan it.

Weeks 1 – 3, you’ll dream and plan your Prosper Project with your team. You’ll discover WHO you are as a team, decide WHAT project you’ll do, and determine HOW you’ll do it.

2
Do it.

Week 4, you and your team will bring your Prosper Project to life!

3
Celebrate it. Reflect on it.

In Week 5, you and your team will gather together to celebrate and reflect on the lessons you’ve learned throughout your experience together.

FAQs

What is Prosper the City? +

Prosper the City brings people together in small teams for 5 weeks to dream up and carry out meaningful service projects that make a real difference in our city. Teams are ideally 8-12 people, but can be more!

When is it? +

Group Meeting Windows:

  • Week 1: Sept 28 – Oct 4

• Week 2: Oct 5 – Oct 11

• Week 3: Oct 12 – Oct 18

• Week 4: Oct 19 – Oct 25

• Week 5: Oct 26 – Nov 1

Why are we doing this? +

God encourages his people to be a blessing to those around them. He even goes so far as to demand that we are to prosper the city that we live in! This is our chance to be the Church! Even with everything that’s going on in our world, we will never stop being the Church, and Prosper the City is a powerful way to make an impact for the Kingdom!

How is this different than We❤️STL? +

We❤️STL Projects are opportunities that happen the first week of every month, with already selected serve projects for nonprofit partners.

Prosper the City allows you and your team to choose an organization or cause that you're passionate about, and serve it in the ways that best utilize your group's gifts and talents.

How do I register? +

Prosper the City teams are organized through our Action Teams. To find a team to join, search Vocational Action Teams HERE. To register a team you create with family or friends, contact us HERE.

Can my kids serve with me? +

YES! Prosper the City is for the whole family, regardless of age! The hope is that you will join a team as a family, and even the kids’ voices will be heard and valued when planning your project! If a group of your child’s friends would like to do it together, that is ok too!

Is my team’s Prosper the City project given to us, or do we have to come up with one? +

Each team will work together to develop their own unique project. The discussion guide that your Team Captain has is designed to make it as simple as possible.

Does a Prosper the City project have to be downtown, in the city? +

No! We encourage you to keep your project close to where you and your teammates live! That way, we are prospering the WHOLE city, not just certain parts of it. Of course, you may choose to Prosper the City anywhere!

How much of a time commitment is a Prosper the City team? +

You’ll meet 5 times with your group, once per week, for 60-90 minutes. During the project week, the time will vary depending on the project.

What skills do I need to participate in Prosper the City? +

There are no required skills! Each person on your team, including you, will bring unique skills and passions to your project as well as connections to the community, making each person’s input meaningful and necessary.

What will we do in our team meetings? +

Each week comes with questions and activities to help you accomplish that week’s goals.

During the first week, you will participate in “asset mapping,” where you learn about the skills, passions, and connections that exist within your group.

Week 2, you will use a point-based voting system to select and plan your project.

Week 3, you will finalize your plans and ensure that everyone knows their role in the project.

Week 4, you will execute your project together.

Finally, week 5 is the time for your team to celebrate and reflect!
