We donated 14 paper grocery bags full of recyclables to Leftovers, etc., a donation-based rescued resource center currently located in Woodson Terrace, near the St. Louis airport. Leftovers, etc., is especially popular with teachers, scout leaders, creative folks, and those who lead groups of children or adults. The center features after-school programs, as well. Leftovers, etc., houses items such as art materials, paper of all kinds, rubber stamps, scrapbooking supplies, gift wrap and bows, gift bags, books, school supplies, sewing supplies, plastic jars, as well as dabs of other items that could be reused. Shoppers can obtain one of the center's paper grocery bags and fill it up with whatever goodies one desires. Then, each filled bag is weighed (to indicate and record how many pounds of materials were not dumped into landfills), and each filled bag costs $15. Leftovers, etc., has been in existence since at least 1992, and the center has been in at least five different locations since then. Prior to this location, Leftovers, etc., was in Chesterfield Mall on the lower level when the mall was still in existence, but many stores had already moved out. On the left in the photo is chief executive director Sandy O'Dell, who's been with the center since 1992.
