Even though we pay disproportionate attention to superstars, the fact is that even the greatest players can’t win without a team around them. Some athletes get a reputation as a “locker room cancer,” and are therefore frequently traded or have short careers. The athletes who have the most sustained success are the ones who invest in teammates and are willing to learn from the veterans around them. How can Christians live out “team player” principles in real life?
